Mark Twain said “Books are for people who wish they were somewhere else.” I love this... now think of the time when Sam Clemens was alive and writing books as Mark Twain. It was well over a hundred years ago. Before radio and television... before internet... and before airplanes. So if you wanted to go somewhere... it was difficult and expensive. Now days you can actually go somewhere much easier, but I agree that you can ALSO go somewhere by reading a book... or watching a movie or TV show... or listening to the radio! If you want to be transported elsewhere, go there...even if just in your mind
