Aeschylus said "God loves to help him who strives to help himself." I love this. It reminds me of the story of the man who was being told to evacuate his home because there was a flood coming. He said “I'm asking God for help”... A boat floats past an invites him to join them, He said “I'm asking God for help”... The flood waters rise and he's on the roof, a helicopter approaches to save him and he said “I'm asking God for help”. Then he drowns. When he gets to heaven he asked God Why didn't you help me? God said... “I sent a boat AND a helicopter!” Of course that's just a silly story, but it's a pretty good example of what often happens! We ask for help, but we need to be OPEN to help that comes our way!
